Dr Quentin Eichbaum HAS 2025

I was born and raised in Africa (Namibia and South Africa) where the vastness of the landscapes instilled in me a love of landscape painting. I grew up in an artistic family where my father was a well-known watercolorist. Coming to the US, I found the grandeur and diversity of the landscapes similarly compelling and amenable to watercolor. The shapes and forms of these landscapes later inspired me towards abstract painting.  MY landscapes have evolved from a realist/impressionist style towards a more abstract (cubist) style.   I have a Master of Fine Art (MFA) degree and have studied with many accomplished watercolorists.

I have exhibited in Africa and the US including in Nashville where I have held a number of solo exhibitions. I have  been a Board member of the Tennessee Art League (TAL), a member of the Chestnut group, and a member of the Tennessee Watercolor Society (TNWS).  I am also a professor of medicine at Vanderbilt.
