Cassie Adams is an artist and designer based in Raleigh, NC. Having lived half her life in North Carolina and the other half in the cities of New York and DC, her inspiration is rooted in the juxtaposition between nature and the urban landscape. Nothing brings her more joy than to capture the beauty of those two worlds through a combination of vibrant colors, layers, and patterns. She is particularly inspired by the feeling of summertime: the wild nature of a meadow, the movement of the tides, and twilight when the lightning bugs come out. She works in several mediums, often combining paint, collage, and oil pastel. Recently, she embarked on marrying them in a digital format, thrilled with the the notion that these individual pieces could create something greater together. Her process begins with hand cut paper and original paintings in acrylic and watercolor. She then photographs or scans sections of these works in order to enlarge and arrange them, creating beautifully layered works. She splits her time between creating art and wearing her interior designer hat, designing colorful spaces for clients and using her artwork to create patterns for her textile and wallpaper collections. When she’s not in her studio, you'll find her with her husband and two amazing little humans, often playing in the garden or having a dance party.
